Almakaen Alsudania Project for Agricultural & Animal Production is a social partnership working in agriculture, registered and licensed in Khartoum since 2014. Through a long-term production partnership, we are bringing thousands of feddan in Al-Damer, Al-Damazin and North Kordofan into productive use, and reinvesting in the communities around them.
Irrigated, mechanized production on the Nile at Al-Damer. Rain-fed, mechanized cropping in Al-Damazin and North Kordofan, where sorghum, sesame and gum arabic have been grown for generations.
Every part of the project is tied to the people who live around it. Profits, training and jobs stay local, guided by a partnership board of trustees.
A tenth of the project is set aside as an endowment to train and qualify graduates of the University of Khartoum Faculty of Agriculture.
An agricultural and engineering training center, founded on educational endowments, prepares feasibility studies for each new production unit.
A local association is a full partner, so families near the land share directly in what it produces.
200 feddan (≈208 acres) at Al-Damer support poultry and sheep raising, giving households income alongside the main crops.
Operating results for a single center-pivot circle producing hay, at 85 tons per harvest and $250 per ton. Each new pivot added at Al-Damer follows the same model.
| Item | Per pivot (USD) |
|---|---|
| Sales, year 1 (8 harvests) | 170,000 |
| Sales, years 2 and 3 (10 harvests each) | 425,000 |
| Total sales, 3 years | 595,000 |
| Production costs (28 harvests at $7,900) | 221,200 |
| Crop establishment (seed, fertilizer, planting) | 67,000 |
| Net operating income, 3 years | 306,800 |

The land is secured and production has started. Grant and investment partners can speed up reclamation, equipment and training, and widen the project's reach into rain-fed regions.
We grow, harvest and bale on our own land with our own equipment. Every dollar goes into productive assets in Sudan.
Center-pivot irrigation uses water efficiently on the Nile. Rain-fed sorghum, sesame and gum arabic suit dryland regions and the climate.
Farm work, livestock units and a 10% endowment that trains University of Khartoum agriculture graduates.
The partners are developing the land with or without outside funding. A grant matches our contribution and lets us move faster.
| Use of funds | Detail |
|---|---|
| Al-Damer reclamation and irrigation | 812 feddan (≈843 acres) brought under center-pivot irrigation at $2,000 per feddan |
| Rain-fed land reclamation | 2,000 feddan (≈2,080 acres) each in Al-Damazin and North Kordofan at $100 per feddan |
| Crop establishment | Seed, fertilizer and planting for 8 new pivots at Al-Damer |
Estimates based on per-feddan reclamation costs and the project's May 2024 cost study.
Almakaen Alsudania is led by its General Manager, with a team of partners who share one goal: productive farmland that benefits the people around it.
We will develop this land with or without outside funding. With partners, we can reclaim it faster, train more graduates and reach more families. We welcome funders, technical experts and buyers who want to grow with Sudan.
